What-Specs is a Spectacle Advice Service purely serving customers and giving advise on 1)issues with their spectacles 2) customers who are planning to select a pair of spectacles.

Qualification to serve

The appointments will be carried out by a qualified Dispensing Optician. To understand what a Dispensing Optician does, please do visit these links The role of a dispensing optician - ABDO Association of British Dispensing Opticians and Regulated Professions Register | Dispensing Optician (regulated-professions.service.gov.uk) and Visiting an optician - NHS (www.nhs.uk). Dispensing Opticians practicing in the UK are regulated by the General Optical Council.

In addition to the above qualification, we have nearly two decades of experience as a Dispensing Optician serving in the UK.

Payment

We accept these cards through our Stripe integration:

  • Visa (credit and debit cards)

  • MasterCard (credit and debit cards)

  • American Express

  • Discover (US merchants only)

  • Apple Pay

The payment of £7.99 is valid only for one 20 minute appointment. We take your card details but only take the payment once the appointment is over.

Refund

What-Specs offers a service and as soon as the service has been started, we cannot offer any refund. However, up to 30 minutes before the appointment, if you decide to cancel, please email us, so we can stop the payment.

Please note it may take up to 28 days to process the refund.

No-Shows

If you cannot make this appointment, please email us on customer@what-specs.com at-least 30 minutes before and we will rearrange to another time and day that works for you.

Courteous Notice

Spectacle Advise is unique to its user. Any information discussed is only applicable to the person who attends the appointment or consultation. Using such information on another person is not allowed and will result in poor results which could have damaging visual health concerns. 

We treat our visitors with respect and do expect the same. We do not tolerate anti-social behaviours of any kind and at any cause and will immediately refuse to provide the service and could possibly block you from using our service in the future. In such an unfortunate situation, no refund will be given even if the service is not completed and stopped just after starting.

This website operates an Unique Service which is conducted by Qualified Dispensing Opticians in High Street Practice. Our method of adapting a Dispensing Opticians role as we believe is a first in the world. So every content of this site is created through great thought and responsibility. We are the Sole owner of every content, design and we ask everyone to respect our work and to note that All Rights are Reserved to What-Specs unless accredited to a Third-Party.

What-Specs allows exclusive access to appointments conducted by their Dispensing Opticians. Any material found on our website, any recordings of conversations will not be permitted. We continuously strive to innovate and create user friendly service aimed to create the best possible visual correction through Spectacles. 

What-Specs does not permit you to mirror any of the content from this site or any other associated site in any form. Failure to comply will result in refusing service.

We at What-Specs believe that You as the User will have the right feedback. We highly value such feedback and would be delighted to receive any constructive information that will improve our offering.

Prescription and its storage

When you attach your prescription, we use this copy only until the appointment after which the emailed copy that came to us is deleted and cannot be retrieved. Therefore, we do not store your prescription in our database. We do request you to attach the copy of your prescription at the time of booking your appointment.

Method of consultation

We use Google Hangouts for video consultations and the standard UK phone line for calls. For customers outside the UK, we still prefer to use Google Hangouts for any consultations.
